Vacation Bible School - 2017 Maker Fun Factory

This year’s mission project was for "Pennys for Puppies Program".  Many, many pennies were collected each day for the puppies trained for the blind. The kids learned how God created them for a purpose by listening to Bible stories, playing games, singing and making crafts in imagination station.

A special event held on May 13, 2017,  with magician Bill Horner performing his magic, Becky Mayhew drawing caricatures, craft table, bounce house, music, games, Pastor Emily Miller had story time, face painting and door prizes. (Lots of door prizes) Fun was had by all that attended.


Emergency Church Access

Our Session organized a group to facilitate the church going forward with emergency access for the community in case of disasters.  We will open the church to assist the community with a place to stay and obtain a meal.  We are also offering a place for First Responders to rest, get warm and have something to eat and drink.


Prayer Chain

The prayer chain is a dedicated group who prays for church members and their family and friends who are in need.

Pumpkins for Mission

Partnered with the Washington Presbytery for the Ethiopian Mission by selling pumpkins during the month of Ocotber

Missions (2017)

The church gave to several local missions, gave out two scholarships to two deserving students form our Church, contributed to Communities Moving Forward, and gave to several out of town missions who were related to Church members.  We thank everyone who supported our Mission projects for the year.  A complete listing is in the year end report.

Hospice Bereavement Newsletter

The newsletter is sent to the next of kin monthly for a year following the death of a family member.

In addition, our church lends its walls to various community groups such as meals on wheels, boyscouts, and the Open Door Nursery.

FUPC Helped Fill a Fire Truck ... the congregation members contributed toys to assist the local fire company fill their fire truck for needy children of the community. The children and youth of the church were seen carrying the toys from the church to the Houston Fire Company, which was the true spirit of Christmas.
